The Hit Me
3-DAY SCRIPT-TO-SCREEN
Status: In post-production
Updated June 15, 2008

At its June 10–12, '05 event in Palm Springs, the Southern California Writers' Conference's Script-to-Screen track made its sophmore bow in the desert. A condensed version of the Indie Filmmaker's Bootcamp, the STS enables participants to write, cast and craft a short film with professional filmmakers over the course of three days.

With a storyline developed Friday, in which a hired killer confides his life – and death – in a suicidal woman, The Hit Me was shot on location Saturday thru Sunday noon, with the rough cut seen here completed mere hours later.

The STS filmmakers were:

Nicholas Berry, gaffer
Anton Diether, screenwriter
Stan Foster, executive producer
Michael Steven Gregory, director
Ross Kallen, producer
Ant Neely, composer
Jim Orr, cinematographer
John Rosenberg, editor
Thomas B. Sawyer, screenwriter

Be sure to watch both the rough cut and final cut to compare the difference titles, color correction, a major script adjustment and overall polish can make.
